Research at UNADE

UNADE is synonymous with research. The American University of Europe is built as a University with a clearly research-oriented profile. It is no coincidence that, when it comes to inter-institutional agreements, article 102 of our regulations establishes this as a priority. Setting up agreements with other higher education institutions is essential, as well as with public and private companies interested in the fields of training, research and dissemination.

Indeed, our University clearly leans toward research. This is reflected in the importance and effort we put into developing master’s theses—work in which research is paramount as part of an extremely rigorous educational model.

All of this becomes even more important in the development of the doctoral theses of the Doctorate programs. These are in-depth pieces of work reflected in obtaining the maximum number of educational credits that can be granted in the United Mexican States. A Doctorate is, precisely, training in research aimed at contributing knowledge in a specific area or field.

To facilitate research, UNADE has international study-stay programs. These include the possibility of traveling to different countries, such as the option enabled through UNADE‘s agreement with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Thus, in the case of special mobility for doctoral candidates, internal mobility between universities is contemplated. This mobility always takes place in a coordinated way, including planned activities.

In addition to national inter-university mobility to attend significant conferences, there is mobility toward Europe—in this case, with universities on that continent with which a collaboration agreement exists.

UNADE in RENIECYT

UNADE University is listed in the National Registry of Scientific and Technological Institutions and Companies (RENIECYT), CONACYT’s financial fund. The goal is to support the development of Mexican society through research.

Practical training for professional development

Training at UNADE is not only theoretical; it is not merely a process of transmitting knowledge. The training UNADE offers is eminently oriented toward practice and workplace skills. The purpose of our University is to teach students to think for themselves, to learn and to foster their interest in research. How? By helping them develop their own ideas geared toward facing the challenges of today’s world.

Consequently, it is a recognizable hallmark of UNADE that our teachers are able to propose solutions to students. However, as a guiding principle, students themselves are encouraged to formulate their own proposals. In this way, our professors are educators and guides, able to teach how to do research.

For the American University of Europe, research is a central axis around which its principles, ideals and regulations have been built. The commitment to students and their research is fundamental in fostering both scientific and technological innovation, as well as in strengthening the communication and dissemination of the conclusions reached. All of this without ever losing sight of the focus on practical application for society and sustainable development.

Fostering research and innovation at UNADE helps keep our own teachers constantly up to date in an effort aimed at academic excellence. Our teaching faculty is rigorously selected and oriented toward continuous learning.

Vice-Rectorate of Research and Development

Research at UNADE is governed by the Vice-Rector for Research and Development, a member of the Governing Board. While the Rector—the highest authority regarding academic quality—has as one of their main duties ensuring that the University reaches the highest levels of excellence, including among its researchers.

Thus, the body responsible for promoting research in general, being aware of all the entity’s scientific and technological advances, is the Vice-Rectorate of Research and Development. This is the body in charge of promoting the practical usefulness of research, as well as its dissemination. Every postgraduate student has the possibility of publishing the summary of their research in the University’s journal.

The research effort coordinated by this Vice-Rectorate, given the international nature of the entity, may come from foreign countries, either in direct relation with UNADE or through agreements with other educational entities. It will be the Vice-Rector of departments who determines the minimum dedication times of full-time and part-time professors and researchers through general rules.

Finally, we conclude that articles 80 and 81 make it explicit that our general regulations govern and guide research. In this way, it is the regulations of each field of knowledge that are established in each case, carefully attending to the relationship between the studies and the results. In such a way that each program specifies the research lines that will be addressed and the material, human and financial resources required for them.
