Institutional Accreditation of High Educational Quality
Universidad Americana de Europa began the accreditation process in October 2020 with the Inter-Institutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CIEES). UNADE voluntarily underwent an institutional self-evaluation, in line with its commitment to continuous improvement and quality. The accreditation process integrates the self-evaluation carried out by UNADE and the structured report following the visit conducted by the External Academic Peer Review Committee (CPAE) from September 21 to 23, 2021.
As well as the ruling of the Institutional Evaluation Committee and the analysis of its executive board. This process resulted in a first positive ruling in February 2022 and a second ruling resulting in Accreditation of High Educational Quality, together with a report highlighting the responsibility, commitment and participation demonstrated by all UNADE staff at their different operating levels.
This reveals a process of continuous improvement that has made it possible to meet the objectives and outcome goals set out in its PMyAC and thus fulfill its mission and vision regarding the recognition of the quality of its university. For UNADE, this has meant a great step forward in its commitment to its students by offering them excellent quality education anywhere in the world. Thus becoming the first online university with Institutional Accreditation of High Educational Quality.
What is CIEES and what is its role in education?
The Inter-Institutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CIEES) are a Mexican body whose work is to verify the quality of study programs and higher education institutions that are already recognized by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP). Since 1991, they have carried out evaluations for the accreditation of higher education institutions in Mexico. Therefore, their institutional mission is “to foster and strategically collaborate with Higher Education Institutions in the pursuit of excellence.” In other words, their work is crucial to guarantee that the studies provided meet quality standards. The CIEES therefore evaluate higher education programs at all levels (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral degrees, etc.) and in different modalities (classroom-based, non-classroom-based or mixed) as well as Higher Education Institutions.
Benefits of high-quality accreditation for UNADE and the student community
The Accreditation of High Educational Quality granted by CIEES to Universidad Americana de Europa represents an enormous recognition for our educational institution. And a commitment to continuous improvement. In other words, the prior evaluation and subsequent accreditation of the university makes it possible to give society the certainty that the institution responds to the purposes for which it was created, backed by its management and its study programs. In this same sense, CIEES accreditation is the clearest way to distinguish the higher education institutions that have excellent quality and a real commitment to teaching.
In this way, those interested in studying, as well as educational authorities and governments, can find out which are these trusted bodies. In this same sense, they act as an indicator for institutions, which can verify that the resources granted are used appropriately. Finally, it stands out that the self-evaluation process serves to collect and analyze information, thereby raising awareness and guiding higher education institutions to commit to quality assurance and the continuous cycle of improvement.
Universidad Americana de Europa accredited with the Institutional Certification of High Educational Quality
Our university, UNADE, has held the Certification of High Educational Quality since October 2022. Thus overcoming a new challenge at the corporate level and demonstrating its clear commitment to its current and future students. This certification has required a great human effort from all the professionals who make up this institution in order to achieve educational excellence. For this reason, receiving high-quality accreditation is a double satisfaction, both internally and externally. Therefore, we want to thank each of the parties who have devoted all their dedication to the service of teaching.
