Personal Data Protection

In accordance with the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (hereinafter “the Law”), Universidad Americana de Europa, A. C. (hereinafter “UNADE”), domiciled in the United Mexican States, is responsible for the collection, processing and protection of your personal data (including sensitive and financial personal data), whether physically or electronically.

Terms and Conditions

I. PURPOSE

In accordance with the provisions of articles 15 and 16 of the Law, UNADE informs you that your data will be collected for the following purposes:

  • Provide educational and cultural services in accordance with the institutional Mission and Vision.
  • Offer information about the institution’s educational offering and scholarships.
  • Carry out registration and enrollment procedures.
  • Register you in the database of students and alumni.
  • Grant financial support, scholarships or financing.
  • Provide information to the different institutional departments for the tasks specific to each department, linked to the academic and administrative processes.
  • Management and processing of billing and collection, where applicable.
  • Prepare statistics and reports required by governmental entities, national and foreign, as well as carry out all the necessary procedures before the corresponding school authorities.
  • Prepare reports, statistics and surveys to improve the quality of the products and services offered by UNADE, for its exclusive use.
  • Enroll, where appropriate, in partnership programs with universities abroad.
  • Enable access to UNADE’s virtual campus.
  • Process the contracting or cancellation of academic insurance.
  • Accreditation and registration of social services and/or internships.
  • Registration for events, seminars, congresses, conferences, or similar, in the case of participation on behalf of UNADE.
  • Dissemination and sending of advertising in order to promote the various institutional academic programs.
  • Promotion of university life.
  • Management of your profile in UNADE’s Job Board, if applicable.

II. DATA COLLECTED

To achieve the purposes indicated in this privacy notice, UNADE informs you that it may collect your personal data. Understood as, by way of example but not limitation: name, date of birth, nationality, address, email, telephone number. Also sensitive personal data, understood as, by way of example but not limitation: racial or ethnic origin, present and future health status, religious, philosophical and moral beliefs, union membership, political opinions and other information that may be used to identify you, as well as financial data.

III. SENSITIVE OR FINANCIAL DATA

In the event that it is necessary to collect sensitive or financial data, the express consent of the data owner will be required, in accordance with article 9 of the Law.

IV. LIMITATION ON THE USE AND DISCLOSURE OF DATA

You can limit the use and disclosure of your personal data by sending a request to the email lopd@unade.net and clearly and concisely specifying the limitation you require.

V. EXERCISE OF “ARCO” RIGHTS

The data owner, or where applicable their legal representative, may request at any time the access, rectification, cancellation or objection of their personal data.

The data owner must send a request to the email address lopd@unade.net indicating:

  • The data owner’s name and an address for communication purposes.
  • Documents that prove identity or legal representation, if applicable.
  • A detailed description of the personal data with respect to which the stated rights are intended to be exercised.

In the event of requesting the rectification of personal data, the data owner must provide documentation that supports their request.

UNADE will inform the data owner within twenty business days, counted from the date on which the request for access, rectification, cancellation or objection was received, whether the request is admissible in accordance with the Law and current regulations. It will then make effective, where applicable, the right exercised by the data owner, within the following fifteen days, counted from the response to the request.

VI. DATA TRANSFER

Your data may be transferred to authorities of any level (Federal, State, Municipal), public and private bodies, various companies and/or individuals, within and outside Mexico, for the purpose of certifying your studies and competencies. Also to participate in personnel selection processes and job vacancies that they publish on our job board.

VII. COMPLIANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES AND CONFIDENTIALITY

The UNADE area responsible for the processing of your personal data is obliged to comply with the principles of lawfulness, consent, information, quality, purpose, loyalty, proportionality and responsibility protected by the Law. Likewise, it undertakes to maintain strict confidentiality. Also to maintain the security measures necessary to protect them against any damage, loss, alteration, access or unauthorized processing.

IX. COMPLAINTS AND REPORTS FOR THE IMPROPER PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

If you consider that your right to the protection of personal data has been harmed by any conduct of our employees or by our actions or responses, or you presume that in the processing of your personal data there is any violation of the provisions set forth in the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, you may file the corresponding complaint or report with the INAI; for more information visit www.ifai.org.mx.

X. MODIFICATIONS TO THE PRIVACY NOTICE

UNADE reserves the right to make the appropriate modifications or updates to this privacy notice. These modifications will be available on the website www.unade.edu.mx or will be notified to you via email.
