It is my pleasure to welcome you to Universidad Americana de Europa, UNADE. We are a young university institution born with the clear and determined vocation of offering studies of the highest level and excellence in higher education. Ours is a commitment to the quality of teaching and cutting-edge research, using and making the most of the new possibilities offered by the most modern computer technologies for the transmission of knowledge.
We aspire to become the international benchmark for online education in Spanish for those who wish to acquire the training, skills and abilities that will allow them to successfully face the challenges posed by 21st-century society. UNADE’s bachelor’s, postgraduate and doctoral studies are based on the most advanced teaching theories and methodologies in line with the new global space of knowledge. They have been designed with the aim of enabling the practical development of theoretical teaching, incorporating the enrichment inherent in cultural exchange on both sides of the Atlantic.
Their primary objective is to train professionals capable of integrating into the world of work, both public and private, with full guarantees of success. Biography
José Antonio Gurpegui
José Antonio Gurpegui (San Adrián, Navarra, 1958) holds a PhD in English Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid (1987; Bachelor’s, 1982); and a PhD in Law from the Rey Juan Carlos University (2016). Full Professor of North American Studies at the University of Alcalá (Madrid). He has been a “Visiting Scholar” in the Comparative Literature Department of Harvard University. He is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard; he is also part of the Recovering U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage project at Texas University Houston.
He is the current president of HispaUSA (Spanish Association for the Dialogue and Study of Hispanic Cultures in the United States); treasurer of IASA (International American Studies Association); advisory member of the National Commission for the Commemorations of New Spain (B.O.E. June 18, 2013), and editor of the academic journal “Camino Real”. Between 2001 and 2012 he was director of the “Benjamin Franklin” University Research Institute for North American Studies at the University of Alcalá in Madrid. He has been a founding member of SAAS (Spanish Association of American Studies), CHICLE (Chicano Culture and Literature Studies) and President of the American Studies Network (2003-2005). He has published and edited more than thirty books with national and international publishers (Bilingual Press; Cambridge Scholar Publishing; UPV; Cátedra; Espasa Calpe…) and more than a hundred articles and essays in Spanish and international academic journals and university publications (Palgrave McMillan; Peter Lang; The Edwin Mellen Press; Universitätsverlag C. Winter; University of Iowa Press; Duke University Press; George Washington University Press…).
Since 2013 he has directed the research project Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Spanish Presence in the United States (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness; Ref. FFI2013-45114-R). He has been the principal investigator in numerous projects, the most recent: Global Infrastructures for Supporting Biodiversity (European Commission; Ref. H2020-INFRASUPP, 2014-2015); Creative-B (Commission of the European Communities. Ref. 2844411, 2011-2014); Life Watch (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. Ref. 95/2011, 2011-2012); Origin, Evolution and Intertextual and Intercultural Development of Chicano Literature (Ministry of Science and Technology. Ref. BFF2003-09050, 2003-2006). He has given lectures and seminars at universities such as the University of California Irvine; Harvard University; Freie Universität Berlin; Thames Valley University London; Universiteit Van Amsterdam; Université Michel de Montaigne -Bordeaux 3-; Università di Milano; Université de Yaoundé, Université de Maroua; University of Osaka; and Beijing Normal University.
Mireya Frausto Rojas
Dr. Mireya Frausto Rojas stands out as an outstanding professional with extensive experience in the field of psychology and education. Her academic background is solid and diverse, beginning with obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the Universidad del Valle de México, where she laid the foundations of her knowledge.
Gladys Adriana Roldán Martín
Gladys Adriana Roldán Martín (Mexico City, Mexico) holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute, a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the Autonomous University of Yucatán (UADY), a Diploma in Genomic Engineering from the University of Mexico City (2003), and a Postdoctorate in Environmental Chemistry from the Metropolitan Autonomous University, Azcapotzalco Campus (UAM-AZC).
She has been a “Visiting Scholar” at the Metropolitan Autonomous University, in the Department of Basic Sciences. She has taught at the best universities in Mexico, both public and private, among which are the National Autonomous University of Mexico, University City Campus, the Metropolitan Autonomous University, Azcapotzalco Campus, the Open and Distance University of Mexico, and the Universidad del Valle de México, Coyoacán campus. At the latter, in addition to teaching, she was President of the Engineering Academy, in which she followed up on the implementation of the curricula of the Engineering area.
She is the current Manager of the Risk and Remediation area at the prestigious company Grupo Selome, in addition to being a Professor in the Continuing Education Division of the Faculty of Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, based at the Palacio de Minería. She has published a large number of scientific articles in indexed international journals such as (Int Biodeterior Biodegradation, International biodeterioration & biodegradation, Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A…) as well as articles and essays in Mexican and international academic journals and university publications (National Institute of Ecology; Ingeniería, Investigación y Tecnología, ExpresionEs UV..).
In addition, she has more than 180 citations in international journals (Journal of the Geological Society of Australia, The APPEA Journal, ..). She holds a patent developed at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute, identified as Mexican Patent 291975 “Bioremediation process in solid culture with the addition of coffee grounds”. The patent has received requests from a Colombian company and a French company to license the technology, in order to decontaminate soils affected by hydrocarbons; its licensing to a Mexican company is currently being processed. She has given lectures and seminars at universities such as the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Metropolitan Autonomous University and the Universidad del Valle de México, among others.
