To enroll in this program, it is necessary to hold an official Master’s degree.
- To effectively guide and educate students holding bachelor's and master’s degrees, becoming part of a teaching faculty recognized for its quality in the teaching–learning process of its students.
- To prepare teachers and other education professionals who are committed to human development, with a strong social orientation and the ability to design, evaluate, and manage solutions that promote economic and cultural progress, as well as to train researchers who contribute to the intellectual advancement of society.
- To address and resolve problematic situations in any educational setting related to learning and vocational guidance.

Study Plan
The proposed Doctorate in Research and Teaching program has a curricular structure based on four formative phases:
Phase 1. Advising
In this initial phase, the program is coordinated between the student and the assigned advisor. With the advisor’s guidance, the student will prepare a proposed outline of the doctoral dissertation. The academic structure of the doctoral program requires the development of a work plan, which must be designed during this phase. This plan should include a detailed timeline of the research activities to be undertaken and must align with the academic framework of the program.
- Duration: 720 hours
- Purpose: To provide guidance in defining the dissertation topic, objectives, hypotheses, and methodology
Phase 2. Coursework
During the second phase, students complete a series of online courses designed according to their prior academic background and the subject of their dissertation. In this stage, doctoral candidates are required to take courses relevant to their chosen research topic. The first course is compulsory, while two additional courses must be selected based on the candidate’s specific line of research. The following section provides a description of the academic and research activities.
- Duration: 880 hours
- Purpose: To acquire the knowledge and competencies necessary to develop solutions that contribute to human, scientific, and technological advancement within the candidate’s line of research.
Phase 3. Research
In this third phase, the student, with the support of the Dissertation Director, carries out research activities leading to the development of the dissertation project. The advisor will assist the student in completing academic tasks related to the research work, as well as in the preparation, review, and advancement of the dissertation, and, when appropriate, in the prospective publication of a research article. The advisor is also responsible for monitoring the student’s academic progress and ensuring compliance with the minimum requirements established for the timely and proper completion of the doctoral dissertation.
- Duration: 720 hours
- Purpose: To develop the doctoral dissertation project.
Phase 4. Dissertation Writing
In this final phase, under the supervision of the Dissertation Director, the student will write the completed research, including the analysis and results obtained.
