INTRODUCTION TO THE ORGANIZATION OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

This course provides an introduction to the organization, management, and evaluation of educational institutions, understood as complex systems where multiple interconnected elements must work together effectively. It explores key concepts such as educational organization and school management, emphasizing the importance of analyzing schools within their broader social, political, economic, and cultural contexts.

The course also examines the main functions of schools, including knowledge transmission, value formation, and the development of critical thinking and autonomy. It introduces the key resources and components of institutions—human, material, and organizational—as well as macro and micro perspectives that help explain both external influences and internal dynamics.

Finally, it addresses the challenges faced by modern educational institutions and highlights evaluation as a continuous improvement process that goes beyond student assessment to include the entire institution. The goal is to understand how schools can adapt and evolve to better prepare individuals who are competent, independent, and socially responsible.
